Random Acts of Kindness Writing & Art Contest

Random Acts of Kindness Writing/Art Contest for Elementary, Middle, and High School Students. Open to all Riverside County, CA Students K-12. Entries may be submitted on behalf of students by teachers, parents, counselors, administrators, or education professionals.

Entries will be accepted until the end of the day on March 1st, 2024. Winners will be announced on Friday, March 8th, 2024 by the end of the day. 1 Grand Prize winner from each cohort (Elementary, Middle, and High School) will be selected. Second and third-place winners from each cohort will also be selected.

Writing Contest Rules:

  • Open to all Riverside County students K-12
  • All submissions must be received by Friday, March 1st, 2024
  • All work must be the original work of the individual student
  • Students should not exceed the maximum number of words allotted for the prompt
  • Students are only permitted to submit one entry in the contest; however, there is no limit to the number of entries per school or classroom
  • Responses may be handwritten as long as the written text is legible. An adult may transcribe the work of the student onto a typed Word document, but the work cannot be altered or changed from its original text (i.e. spelling, punctuation, grammar, and structure must all be kept intact and in its original form)

Art Contest Rules:

  • Open to all Riverside County students K-12
  • All submissions must be received by Friday, March 1st, 2024
  • All artwork must be original work
  • Students are only permitted to submit one entry in the contest; however, there is no limit to the number of entries per school or classroom
  • Students should limit the artwork size to an 8.5in x 11in sheet of paper
  • Students can utilize, but are not limited to the following art mediums: Paint (acrylic, oil, tempera), Pastels, Charcoal, Pencil, Pen/Ink, Crayon, Colored Pencil, Watercolor, Gouache, Collage, Chalk, Markers, Digital, Photography, Mixed Media, Graphite, Print, Print-screen, Graphic…etc.)

CONFLICT OF INTEREST STATEMENT

A potential or actual conflict of interest exists when commitments and obligations are likely to be compromised by the employee or board member’s material interests or relationships (especially economic), particularly if those interests or commitments are not disclosed. As such, no RMCCF employee or board member (or familial relation of either) may be selected as a contest winner. If found to be entering the contest, said entry will be withdrawn from consideration. These restrictions do not apply to Riverside Medical Clinic (RMC) employees unless the said employee is a relative of an RMCCF employee or board member.
